Topic: Idle auto-extrusion code

Is there a code/function that will extrude a small amount of filament when the hot end is up to temperature but idle?

For example, the hot end is up to temperature but you are waiting for the bed to heat up, so every 5 mins or so 10mm of filament will be extruded to stop the hot end getting blocked?

We all know that leaving the hot end idle at temperature too long can block it.

I know someone who is working on such a feature and also an auto-off after specified time among other things... but it could be a while... I'm sure there are others working on similar ideas though.

Excellent ideas.

Hey, Ronsii, how about an option to drop the temp to, (you specify) a warm temp, like 100 after (you specify) minutes? Warm instead of cold for quicker reheat.
