Topic: Tip...How not to lose your RH settings if you upgrade or reinstall

at least this is how I do it smile

You've got RH/slic3r finely tuned and you're getting near perfect prints.

You decide to upgrade and all your previous settings go "Fubar" or for other reasons you have to reinstall your RH software.

All your flow rates, extrusion settings, layer heights, which box is checked/unchecked,etc have all gone down the toilet.Nobody wants to go through that crap again.

If you can afford a 3D printer, you probably have a smartphone...use it to catalog everything. If you don't,you can at least take screen shots of all your settings tabs.

Take shots of all your settings tabs in RH and Slic3r,put them in a folder(s) on the desktop, title them .1mm,.3mm,etc.

This will take you 10min at the most and will keep you from going crazy if you have to start from scratch.

Re: Tip...How not to lose your RH settings if you upgrade or reinstall

when I first got my SD3 I bought A 3" 3 ring binder set up the software
as recommended by the forum and made screen shots.
as I add different hardware  all the setup info goes into the binder.
I also have a spread sheet for the filament - suppler, cost, color, I check and log the filament diameter average at the beginning of each print.
so I refer to the binder all the time.

Re: Tip...How not to lose your RH settings if you upgrade or reinstall

i just updated to the new RH and other than having to set my proper printer height size I haven't noticed any settings that got changed.  I haven't tried printing yet but so far everything looks good.
