Topic: Repetier Host Auto Placement Error

I use Repetier Host, and has worked flawlessly from the beginning. Except I can never get the Auto Place featuer to work. It always complains about too many items, need to be unpacked first before auto placement will work.... no clue how to unpack items, and not sure how to get that feature to work.  Would be really nice for the prints where I want to print lots of parts at the same time.

Any help appreciated:)

Re: Repetier Host Auto Placement Error

I use Cura for printing a plate full of items. I haven't ever had luck with RH using the auto position. Let us know if you find out how to use it.

Well it seems to work if you use the copy function, and leave the auto position button selected. But not quite what Iam looking for.

Re: Repetier Host Auto Placement Error

the paid version of KisSlicer will let you place multiple items on the bed.

Ultimaker S3.

RH always complains about to many items/unpacking if you have dump area enabled.

Re: Repetier Host Auto Placement Error

I set up RH from scratch the other day on a second printer and I noticed that the new version actually works. you can drop a new part in and it will move the first one and arrange them both instead of dropping it on top of the last one.

I haven't updated the RH software on my solidoodle yet.. I am afraid to touch it now that it is set up! smile

Re: Repetier Host Auto Placement Error

I will try disabling the dump area, and or upgrade to the newest version.

Re: Repetier Host Auto Placement Error

All right upgrading to the latest Repetier Host was a great decision. Auto positions, slightly better interface, a few more options. Anyhow I'd recommend upgrading for anyone who uses RH.  Thanks for the tip downeym.  Of course solidoodle has not updated there installer version yet, so you're going to have to put in a few parameters specific to your SD model.  And make sure you grab the installer from Repetier Host's website, not solidoodle.  it's something like v 0.90C. SD website supplies v0.85

Re: Repetier Host Auto Placement Error

No adjustments  required if you install it over the solidoodle version. But yes, the new RH is much better. It even includes the newest slic3r revision.

Re: Repetier Host Auto Placement Error

I want to do this but like others, i'm afraid i'm going to lose some of my settings.  Where does RH store all the printer settings?  Are all the files stored in the same location or are the slicr setting files stored in a different location?
