Topic: X axes stange noise

hello

can anyone help me to diagnose my problem, all of a suddent my brand new S3.

the X axe stepper motor (I suppose) does a stange noise... but only when i move it manualy on the X axe with repititerhost,
it does it also most of the time during printing but some time it doesn't

and it never does it when I move it back to home position.

the other axes are fine

I load a video to show the problem, sorry for the shaking...

Thanks in advance...

Re: X axes stange noise

Can you describe the noise better?  I didn't hear anything unusual in your video.

Re: X axes stange noise

When it move on the Y axe it's almost silent, when it move on the X axe it's loud, like it's scraping against something like there is some resistance. (but there is none)

but again when it move back to home the noise is not there.

On the video you can see (hear!) the difference of noise between the X motion and the Y motion, X you can , Y not.

Re: X axes stange noise

Depending on the speed settings for moving an axe the sound will be different.... rapid moving versus standard print speed, you can set these repetier.

Re: X axes stange noise

I get that,

The problem is that

1 it did not do that at first. Originaly it was a smooth sound the exact same as the Y axe
2 same speed, same command,  tow different sound. X being louder and kinda grippy, Y being smooth.

And what is bugging me is that when it goes home, the motion of the X axe is back to original.
The fact that the sound is now different from the original and somewhow normal smooth sound.
Vs the rocky loud sound. That sometime vanish ( without a sound;).

There is definetly something wrong but  I do not now what.  Is the stepper motor damaged?
The bearing? Something else, i reinstaled the driver and the horst serval time,

Even changed the host, ( but with repetitorG the sound is totaly different for both axe.)
I even reinstaled window, and tried on another computer.

I'm at lost. The S3 print relatively good but i don't want to breack it...

Thank anyway.

Re: X axes stange noise

Why not disconnect the x belt and rotate the stepper and idler? Should find the problem straight away, worth a shot.
