Order: 15721  for SD3 and natural ABS filament
Order Date: Aug/12th  (8 days ago)
Status: still pending and now John (support) tells me that my shipment might be getting delayed by few more days and perhaps shipped by end of this week (by Aug 23).

I am just worried about slipping dates might slip more.

After I read few posts here, I just emailed John to replace my natural ABS filament with RED color or cancel filament part.

Lets see if this helps speed things up.


Any tips/ experiences?

Are SD2s shipping any faster?

EDIT: Got a reply from Support - This order is shipping out today ! yay!! They stated there was a surge in orders in last 1 weeks hence the delay..  smile

I run a small business, much of what I sell is "Made to Order".
If I get ten phone calls asking "where's my order?" in a day it puts me a half day behind.

A 3D Printer at less than half the price of the competition? Give them a little slack.

Well, mine has been pending for 3 whole days. Why that's almost half of the 5 to 7 day estimate on the web site! I'm incensed! :-).

Actually, I did find it a little odd that the only shipping method I could pick was 2-day priority mail. Seems like UPS ground would be cheaper and if it takes a week or two to build it, what is another week or two in shipping? Maybe I'm just too patient.

I think they only ship Priority. Probably easier/cheaper.

If they shipped a lot, they could get a special rate with UPS/FedEx.

Now that's interesting. I ordered a SD2 on 17/08/2013 (order 15934) and it is still pending. I guess they are concentrating on SD3s (or maybe waiting for the black filament I ordered at the same time). In any case, I didn't expect it to be fast, so I haven't gotten too worried yet :-).

I finally got around to emailing them, and got a reply that (paraphrased) said "oops, we'll ship it today" :-). Maybe it got lost behind another box? In any case, it has a tracking number now, but isn't in the UPS database (and it is interesting that it is apparently shipping UPS even though the shipping charge on my order was for priority mail).

When I ordered my SD2 it showed that it was in stock (it still shows in stock on the website).
*Shipping Time: Usually Ships within 3-5 business days when listed as "In Stock"

that really got my hopes up because I thought I was going to receive it before my birthday but it doesn't look like that will be happening now.

I see people who have ordered SD3's and have had it shipped within 4 days. It makes me feel like SD2 orders are lower priority than SD3. I'm just a little confused about when the website lists "In stock" does that mean they have some that are built or does it mean they have the parts but need to be assembled.

I have sent a email to support and Joel said that they are a overwhelmed with orders and its extremely difficult to keep up with the order load at times.  He was very polite and stated he will make sure my SD2 gets shipped ASAP.

Hopefully It ships soon! I will keep you guys updated!

Well, I ordered my SD3 on Sunday 18/08/2013.
a guy who ordered two SD3s got his already, mine still shows "Pending"

Man, I have all kinds of neat stuff in my head ready to produce and change the World with....hurry up SD Guys!

Possibly! I only order 2 rolls in white and I'd imagine that would almost always be in stock. Good luck, I hope you get yours soon!

Yea, when I ordered mine, the only shipping choice I had was Priority Mail 2 day shipping (which was pretty expensive), but when they finally shipped it, I see it is coming UPS ground. I don't know if I should complain about the shipping charge or just be glad it is on the way :-).

I ordered mine on 8/2 and it said 3 to 5 day ship time same as others have stated. After 2 emails, one of which also stated the 3 to 5 day lead time, finally i told them to either ship or refund. It was shipped the next day 8/16. Arrived here in The Philippines on 8/21 and has been stuck in customs ever sense.

I know they have had exponential growth this last year and are experiencing the effects of such fast growth.

I did get a nice apology letter about the delay in shipment.

My printer shipped out pretty fast and it works well, but my complaint is that Solidoodle shipped the 2 filament spools separately and declared both boxes at a $800 value, so I to pay about $60 in taxes for $80 worth of filament.

So I placed my SD3 order on 28 August; at about 8 or 9pm EST.  By 5PM EST 29 August (Friday) it had been marked as "shipped".  Had we not had a federal holiday Monday (yesterday) I would have had it then; but I changed it with UPS to a "pickup" and got it on my way in to work today.

Gotta point out however, that I'm only about 300 miles away from NYC where it originated; but that's still a lot faster than I was expecting.

My only complaint is that my Z-Stop screw was not properly set; and I gouged the kapton tape a bit attempting to do a calibration print.  It's partially my fault as I should have checked that by manually moving the bed up slowly to see if it would hit before clicking "print."

Everything else however seems to be in good working order.
