Topic: Extruder jam and Urgent print help!

I have two stock extruder heads for the solidoodle. I recently had a clog in both. I have uncleared the clog but now after I start a print the filament jams up and wont keep feeding into the peek. Sometimes it happens right away and sometimes half way into a print. Can anyone help. My wedding is next week and i need to print out 6 beer bottle openers still in octave lime green filament. If someone could help me clear up this jam or help me print these out I would be great full!!

Here is an example of what I was printing before the madness happened. I did manage to print 19 of them so far.

when you put the mk5 on did you check to make sure your knurled/toothed drive wheel and bearing are lined up with the hole in your PEEK? i had to move mine forward about 1mm

I have been printing with the  MK5 for a few months without issue. Maybe it has moved. I will check.

Re: Extruder jam and Urgent print help!

Its 2mm ID PTFE but I am sure you can get other things to work

Re: Extruder jam and Urgent print help!

Hey, 2N2R5, what type of extruder body is that? I like the way it keeps the hot end secure. The Mk5 is kinda iffy with the swing out arm which is convenient to remove the hot end but I like the methhod you have of screwing it securely in tight.

Also, mainly, it would be simple to draw in an extension of that piece to form a guide piece that would serve the same purpose as your piece of PTFE.

Re: Extruder jam and Urgent print help!

2n2r5 is using the mk4 by the looks of it
the bit your talking about looks like this one http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:89216
but i have been using this one http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:89783
i still use the mk4 so it still holds my hotend snug
