Topic: Solidoodle 3 - Y axis manually going wrong way
SD3 received 2 days ago, assume new printr board.
Repetier Host V0.90C
Slic3r V0.9.10b
Unboxed and powered and nothing inherently broken.
I was able to connect and get the printer recognized as a SD3.
I can see temps, turn heaters on and off, and manually move the motors.
I homed Z axis and found it far away from the nozzle. Reason why is there is alot of play in the Z bearings. The entire deck tilts up and down. So I pushed it down and used the business card method to level the deck. I then home the Y axis and here is what gets strange:
I can no longer move the Y axis after homing. Because Repetier moves the Y towards the back for positive movement. At this point I shut down the printer and move the axis back to the center. I am afraid if I use Repetier to move the Y axis again, it will crash into the homing switch. Which makes me vary wary about starting my first print. Is there something I am missing here? From my research, the direction of positive movement and homing is all in the firmware, so there should nto be anything for me to set in RH.
Am I just being over cautious, or can anyone else confirm which direction their SD3 moves in manual mode?
Currently Z positive moves down
X positive moves right
Y positive moves back
Oh, also the motors move in the direction of the homing switch when commanded to home.
