Re: NOOOOO, SD3 arrives broken

Anything is possible when UPS ships it.

No trees were harmed in the creation of this email, though some electrons were horribly inconvenienced.

Re: NOOOOO, SD3 arrives broken

My repair lasted for the duration I had it in.  Just a couple days ago Solidoodle sent me a new platform with added support on the sides, hopefully preventing further cracks.  However now I'm having issues with the extruder motor, oh well, such is life. In regaurds to the platform, I might eventualy fabricate a nicer one, but I wont worry about it for now.

Re: NOOOOO, SD3 arrives broken

HI Guys,
I received mine with a broken support just like yours. I asked them to send a new one and they did, with gusseting on the sides much like the image posted above but in wood. It seems quite strong. I glued my damaged one and was able to use it for a bit, but am glad the new one arrived. Took about a week and a half.
Of course, now I am dealing with a very clogged nozzle after about ten prints.
As an aside, mine came with a spool inder the bed, not taped down.

I think that's why they did the new bed design.  That's like 5 I think, but not sure how many shipped cause not a lot of people come here and post when it ships.  I know that I am recording the unboxing.  If anything is not packaged right the video will go to YouTube and email to customer support with link.

Re: NOOOOO, SD3 arrives broken

It's a legitimate product design company in the US, with actual 3D printing services.  I don't know why they would be using Indian spammers for promotion.  On the plus side, this is first time we got one that was actual 3D printing rather than paper printing.
