Topic: Y belt slipping

im really sorry if this has been covered before but my current issue is that the belt that drives the y axis (directly from the motor) will stop rotating with the motor, so the y motor freely spins then it will catch the belt again. i tried retensioning the belt but it didnt seem to help. i know that the belt is wearing out so it will soon need to be replaced but is there anything i can do in the meantime to prevent it from slipping?

Thank you all

Zac

ZAC,

Did you try tightening the little set screw (grub screw) on the pulley? they have a tendancy to slip..

Re: Y belt slipping

Yeah its the actual belt that is slipping at the motor because it is warn down. Short of having solidoodle send me a new one is there any way to replace the belt?
