Topic: replace thermistor

i accidentally broke my thermistor.  i ordered a couple more from the compatible list off digikey.  they aren't shielded and need the harness.   can i patch them into the existing harness since it still has it's wires intact?  is there any sort of tutorial for this?

thanks in advance.  i'm alot better at the modeling portion than the hardware, so i may sound like an idiot.

Re: replace thermistor

you can reuse the existing PTFE insulation, but you will probably need to re-crimp the wires with what is called a "Butt Connector" .. basically small metal tubes. Plain old pliers will do.

Make sure that you crimp the connections thoroughly. Because thermistor legs are so small, it can be easy to get an intermittent connection.

Re: replace thermistor

The thermistor problems arises due to high temperature. As the main function of thermistor is to control temperature up to certain level.
