Topic: Printing off the edge

I finally got my printer up and running but no matter where I place my object in repetitor it keeps trying to print off the front edge. I think due to it continually printing in the corner is also one of the reasons why my plastic wont stick to the bed.

Re: Printing off the edge

Make sure you click the Home button on the manual tab of RH (best to do this before you do anything else). (see picture) If that does not work then you might need to check the connections for the end stops.

Possibly wrong printer settings in Repetier printer config. Can you post up your settings for the dimensions tab?

I don't know why I always assume people are using an SD3 but definitely could be the issue here.

Re: Printing off the edge

Ontop of printing off the edge, no matter what side of the area I move it to, the printer alway prints it in the same place

Re: Printing off the edge

Ok, that seems all ok.

Can you copy and paste your start gcode from a file you are trying to print?

Sorry to jump in here, but this is part of another thread as well.

What's up with the "Cartesian Printer" settings?  Shouldn't that be "Classic Printer w/ Dump Area" or something like that?

I noticed that matt when I looked up how I should be setting my printer, and I have no idea whats up with that.

Re: Printing off the edge

Have you switched it or left it at that?  I'd switch it to what I noted above and see what happens.  Doesn't sound like it could be worse, as that is the setting on my install!

Re: Printing off the edge

Well I dunno what happened but it is suddenly printing in the middle like it is supposed to, except now, even worse then my last problem, the extruder isn't responding suddenly.

Re: Printing off the edge

What do you mean by "isn't responding suddenly?"  Is the extruder not extruding at the start?  Or is it suddenly not extruding at all?

Re: Printing off the edge

It did a really small quick print when it finally centered, then I went to try another print and suddenly the extruder wasnt moving. Im not sure if it isnt actually moving, or if my computer is having an issue.

Re: Printing off the edge

unplug the USB to the printer board and unplug the power. best to go ahead and reboot the computer your using too. then reload RH, plug in the USB, and then the printer power, then hit connect in RH, in that order, and see if it works better. i had all kinds of weird problems at first when i left the USB plugged in all the time. discovered that "boot order" and haven't had a problem since.
