1 order# does not = 1 printer.   Yours will very likely ship 20 weeks from the order date, or maybe 19.  How long have you waited so far?

nearly 8 weeks

Be sure to post your info to the shipping table at the Wiki, or post here, including the serial.  Your serial number (stamped on the back) should be a good indication of how many printers have shipped.

Serial number is 978

If your invoice number was 0642, and your serial is 978, does that mean I can't use my invoice number as a way to figure out how many more printers are ahead of mine? I assumed invoice number should be bigger than the serial since there should be more orders overall than printers. So I don't understand how the serial could be so much larger than the invoice number.

I had been subtracting the posted number of printers shipped from my invoice number to get a rough idea of how many printers are ahead of me, but it sounds like it doesn't work that way.

I realize I should just use the 20 week estimate that everyone keeps mentioning, but counting down how many printers are left till my order is the only thing keeping me sane right now.

My info:
Invoice 2011-01461
Order 3101
Order placed on 07/27/2012

Ya sorry, lack of sleep. I completely forgot they also posted that is was like 300 for June and 300 for July, so I guess there's only about 600 till mine. Getting really excited now.

I ordered my printer later than you, and I think I will mentally prepare myself for 19 weeks. See graph of the ones shipped already. Hopefully I won't be disappointed :-)

Re: Orders Shipping List

Just read the blog post with the updated shipping schedule and it looks like they are expecting to clear out 100 printers a week. This sounds extremely promising but seems like a large jump from what some were claiming as 25 a week only a few pages ago. This ramp up for the holidays sounds like it's going to be pretty intense.

Re: Orders Shipping List

The real test is going to be us seeing how quickly they get through june/july at roughly 300 orders each month. I ordered August 19th and I still would be surprised to see it by Christmas. In an assembly setting like theirs sometimes adding employees can slow you down for a bit. Regardless ill be here waiting patiently in excitement.

I think 25 a week was extrapolated as a mean value over the whole period, including the very early stages and the weeks when there was basically zero production... But let's see their claims: The folks at Solidoodle in August were expecting to be able to produce "30 printer per day, 6 days a week by the end of the month" (=180 printers/week). Then they made the revised shipping schedule on the 17th based on 150 printers/week (as we learned in the latest update, June and July orders are 600 and they where expecting to clear them in four weeks). Now they've come to a more realistic estimate of 100 printers/week, which is more or less what appeared in the posts when they were actually giving updates.

I think that their estimates in the latest update should be quite reasonable.

Re: Orders Shipping List

Just received my printer! yay! BUT, damage! I thoroughly inspected the outside of the package before UPS left, didn't notice any damage whatsoever. But they left, then I opened it, and poop. Serial number 1029 is on the sticker. Is that the serial number? I thought it was stamped into the metal.
What is the name of the part that is busted?

Send an email with these pictures to [email protected].  They have been calling it the jigsaw puzzle.  Sorry to see another one came through damaged.  Guess UPS is dropping them from the rooftops or something.

Support, you need to move on getting some foam or custom packaging, this is happening at an alarming rate.

Re: Orders Shipping List

How do the slides on the left and right look?  Those are what usually break.  It looks like the box landed really hard on its face, and the weight of the motor broke the acrylic.

I actually worked for UPS in college, loading trailer trucks for about 2 weeks.  The packages all slide down off a conveyor onto a roller slide and pile up in front of the trailer.  You had to check all the labels to make sure the zip code belonged in that truck, stack stable walls (tetris with a hundred shapes) and do it at a rate of 1 package every 1.5 seconds.  It doesn't lend itself to gentle handling.  Trucks had to be unloaded even faster.

Re: Orders Shipping List

I got my shipping email from Solidoodle today, so yay!  Order # 1870 on June 5th.  Sorry to see the damage creationblur!  I've seen too many with shipping damage so I'll be cringing as I open the package.

Hopefully I'll be home when it arrives, but that's doubtful.  It looks like I should completely unbox it in front of the UPS guy and take some photos along the way.  If anyone else has done this, does that do any good in filing a claim with UPS?

My brother worked there too and he said when you get backed up they still don't stop the conveyors, they just let everything pile up.  I ship a lot of parts for my work and I always double box, first box is for the product, second box is for UPS.

They look good as far as I can tell. No visible damage. They move pretty good back and forth, belts have good tension. I did send them an email with the same pictures i've posted here. No response yet.

Re: Orders Shipping List

I always hated that.  There is a slide that comes down from the conveyor.  If you got behind, the slide would fill up to the conveyor and you would have to go up there and toss boxes down to free it up.  Which would get you even further behind.   It's the only job I ever got fired from due to not being good enough.  I don't feel too bad about that one.

Sometimes a box comes that rolled around enough to smell like a UPS distribution center and bring back the memories...

Re: Orders Shipping List

Awesome! Support just emailed me back, and they are going to send out the replacement part. He, Clifford, asked if i'll be able to replace it myself, which I said yes of course. But then I started thinking, was that a hint that it is going to be crazy difficult to do? So, has anyone here been fortunate enough to replace this part, and been successful?
