update: UPS ground? seriously? starting to get nervous about broken parts. for $50+ shipping charge, you would think they would spring for a slightly quicker service. less transit time = less chance of damage. oh well. we shall see.

ive never had an issue with UPS ground service. its just that the fragile nature of this device has me on edge about the transit time. most of the shipping damage ive seen seems to be from too much weight shifting in transit. perhaps solidoodle should consider shipping without the stepper motors installed to cut down on weight on the parts that are suspended on rails inside the frame. might keep plastic from snapping and rods from bending.
but again, we'll see when it gets here. lol

No major problems. The test filament was too far down into the extruder to back out, so I had to work a little to get it pushed down far enough that a newly fed in filament would push it the rest of the way. Otherwise everything OK.

No shipping damage to report. set printer up, calibrated extrusion steps and leveled the bed, and printed 20mm test block, 19.99mm on both sides. have some strange minor diagonal banding, which i assume is due to z axis eccentricity, i'll be exploring that later. for now, EXTREMELY impressed and satisfied. time to start printing spare/replacement parts. and order a few extra hot ends to have in reserve!

On June 3 they posted on their FB page that all lead times were down to 2-3 weeks.
Perhaps they were a bit premature in this announcement.

11760 is here, no problem at customs. well packed, no damage ... working! of course it needs some tuning
(first problem, repetier host springs so 195 degrees when starting, but thats just peanuts)

Thats the correct temp on an SD. 195 on an SD == 225-230 on a 'normal' printer...

mi order ID is 12798 SD2 and its not shipped yet looks like it is two work lines for SD2 and SD3 i contac theirs and i receip a mail quick answer telling me everything its ok and my order must be shipped in less than 7 days so the rest depends on customs....
