That looks very nice, but does it suite our purpose? It took me 1 hour to make the Z-platform, and I'm working on the extruder/print-carriage now.
My thoughts on what we need an exploded view for:
- establish common terms for each part of the printer, including part numbers, even for the small parts.
- create catalogue of sources for each part
- create a quick visual aid of how the printer can be assembled and disassembled.
- create a comparison of the major mods (layers).
I know it's nice to have a 3D view for this, but a 2D exploded view should be plenty, especially given the axis-aligned nature of various components. edit: Additionally, the exploded view is more for people who already own an SD, so they already have a 3D view of it IRL
On the other hand, It doesn't matter much if we mix formats, since we will probably have a different image for each major component anyway. I will refine some things and then add them to the wiki.
Once again, how about part numbers? Just 001 002 003 arbitrarily? e.g. SD2 aluminum bed Part #001
SD2 Sanguinololu 1.3a atmega1284p, wood platform, lawsy's carriages, braided fishing line, pallet wood overhead spool mount, carboard/magnet enclosure, glass bed, E3D v6, bed levelling knobs, extended z-stop, 25A DC-DC SSR for bed heater, everything fixed to the SD2 frame, marlin firmware with some adjustments and extra failsafes enabled. I'll never give up on you, little printer that could(n't)!
