Topic: Bed stopped working mid print

Was in the middle of a 2 hour print and when I went to check on about 1/2 way through and realized the bed stopped heating and the print was sliding around with the hot end.  Since then can not get the bed to heat back up.

When I check the resistance of the bed I get 1.8 ohm which John from Solidoodle said is perfectly within range.

If I check the voltage on the bed pins when I turn the bed on I only get about 1.2VDC.  Is this correct?

Any Ideas why the bed will not heat anymore?

You should be getting 12VDC at the output connectors on the board when you have the bed turned on. Check the input voltage from the power supply also and make sure you are getting 12VDC from that.

MOSFET or traces are donezo! See if SD will RMA the board, if not it's time to break out the soldering iron!

something really odd.  I change the Sanguino board with my spare got the same results.  Then I flashed the firmware back to original Lawsy version and low and behold it started working again.

Could something have corrupted the firmware?

Corrupted the firmware on both boards? That'd be really weird indeed.

I wonder if it was a USB port issue, and when you went to flash you re-initialized the USB port?

I had both boards flashed with adrian's Beta version,  the spare I have been using trying to get Viki LCD to work correctly so I might have screwed the firmware up on that one somehow wink

Once I flashed back to the latest lawsy build the old board started working again.  Just confused how the bed turned off mid print then could not get back on again.  might have been USB issue with laptop.  Will have to keep an eye on it to see if it happens again.
