Topic: Printer is offsetting layers and scrunching Y axis movement
I am working with my school's Solidoodle printer, and was loving it until I noticed some severe alignment issues. I have not yet narrowed the issue down to be solely a problem with the printer, but I do as of yet suspect that there is some physical issue with the printer causing this problem. I have tried reinstalling my hosting software (Pronterface) but the same results were rendered. Expert opinion would be warmly received in resolving this issue.
These issues randomly arose during a print, and I have found no conclusive reasoning as to what may have caused the issue at this point. My instructor did mention a power surge may have occurred during the print, but, the printer was on a power strip and I have since run prints to make sure this was not an isolated event; but the problem persists after the original misprint. Next week I plan to try it on different machines, and with different host software(s) to link the issue to its true source.
