Topic: Yet Another Solidoodle Extruder - Bowden Style
Because I wasn't having enough bad luck with my printer, I decided to give it a go at making a Solidoodle bowden extruder. I was inspired by Lawsy quick release system for the hotends. It seems that would work very well as a PTFE Tubing end piece holder. Most of the design is just MK4 remastered. I have a hole some where in my design so I haven't been able to print this yet. (that and I am waiting for a replacement hotend) Just thought that I would put it up here and let everyone tell me why it won't work before I get too far.
The PTFE Tubing is 2mm ID x 4mm OD.
mcmaster.com has it in that size in lengths as little as 5 feet. I am still working on a mount for the hotend. I am hoping to borrow ideas for the X-carriage from nlancaster.
The tensioner arm is beefed up from the original. It is what I am using on my MK4. The one that came with the MK4 seemed to be a little weak for me.
ALL input is welcome.
