Topic: Spacing between layers!

So me and my dad just recently purchased a 3D printer and we've been trying to figure out how to work it for a couple weeks and we keep running into problems we can't figure out how to fix.

One of the problems we're facing is this.

Does anyone know why this is happening or how we can fix it?

You might want to check the add perimeters box in slicer. I find that helps fill in the gaps on curved surfaces.

Thanks! We're getting there! We reprinted that dome shape with more perimeters and it worked great. A huge improvement. I feel so dumb not to have tried that earlier haha. Now, does anyone know how to prevent curling with .1mm layer height? Or is it just something we have to deal with?

Oops, phone posting at its best.

Mostly the issue is that when you have a shallow curve, the outer perimeter of one layer might need to be set so far back from the layer below that there is infill beneath it rather than perimeters.

To prevent curling, your best bet would be a fan on the nozzle so the plastic can set before it has a chance to curl.  This is usually more of a problem with overhangs than just .1mm printing, though it might be more likely to curl since the thinner plastic is easier to move.

This is why we are here. I feel stupid all the time, but I feel more stupid when I try to figure something out on my own and end up making things worse. Sure, take a minute and search on your own but feel free to ask. One of the reasons I bring up issues which have already been addressed is because something may have changed and I want the latest info.
As far as the curling, an extruder fan is the way to go.
