I was leaning in to get a close look and my bottom lip contacted the corner of the chassis and I noticed that i felt a shock, about the same as a 9 volt battery. Anyone know why this might be, or if its dangerous?
The ground in the SD power supply(from the high voltage side) is connected to the NEG(-) lead to the main board which is also a ground to the chassis... if you are feeling a shock I would guess that your wiring in the house is at fault... ie. the house wiring ground wire is at a potential above 0 volts, the ground lead from your main panel may have a bad connection or something similar.
Check with voltmeter..?
It's quite surprising your chassis has a charge.

you can pick up a ground fault electrical tester
like the one below for less than $10 at any
building supply.

Make sure that both devices have their ground plugs and that both of them are grounded properly.
If this is the US.. remember that they haver rather, lets say, unique takes on how Grounding(earthing) works compared to the rest of the world; partilcularly if this is in a building that dates back to the 1960's.
Its entirely possible as ronsii pointed out to have current/voltage present in your earth/ground due to wiring issues elsewhere in the premises.
