Topic: Gaps and spacing issue in XY plane

Looking at my first print I expected to see ridges along the Z axis but expected bottom and top layers to be smooth. However they turned out to have lots of ridges. This makes me think that either not enough ABS is coming out of the extruder or that the slic3r spacing is too coarse.

Please let me know how to correct for that.

I already did this calibration
solidoodletips.wordpress.com/2012/08/09/extruder-calibration/
Results: default stepper value was 138 causing an extrusion of 131mm at 100mm requested. I set the value down to 105 steps and changed the Slic3r default extrusion multiplier from 0.7 to 1.0 to adjust for the change.

Also levelled the bed using paper.

Temps are set to 200 extruder and 90 bed.

Re: Gaps and spacing issue in XY plane

Why does it say "our target of .42" when the wall thickness is supposed to be 0.50 ?

Re: Gaps and spacing issue in XY plane

1 thread width is .42.  Since we're setting for 1 perimeter, that's the thickness we're looking for.

Re: Gaps and spacing issue in XY plane

yes, 1 thread width is supposed to be .42mm unless you use a different tip than .35mm
