Topic: Printing Issue repeatable

Ok, anyone have any idea what might cause this to happen?

I'm printing out the parts for the MK4 and I'm trying to print the tension arm and it's screwing up on the final part of the prints.  Thought it was an issue with the first print (maybe slight clog, who knows...), so I printed it a second time and I get the same exact results.

The part starts off perfect, then it just goes to hell.

Sliced at .1mm and 50% infill.  The image displayed on the GCODE editor looks perfect.

This is probably caused by the part heating up when the nozzle is constantly in contact with it.  Try printing like 6 of them at the same time.  This will allow it to cool in between layers.  Alternatively, you can add a nozzle fan.

Isn't there a setting for a minimum time on each layer? I can't find it but I remember seeing it.

The speed doesn't matter when the extruder is in contact with it all the time.  That is why you need to either cool it with a fan or draw it away somewhere else - like other parts that you are printing.

If that was the case, why aren't a lot of my other prints screwing up like this?  I can print a lot of other things just fine, it just seems to be this one part?

It depends on the amount of area that is being printed at a given time.  For large objects, it is not an issue.  In this part, there are only a few millimeters squared being printed on.

I've just updated the tensioner arm file. The new one is more robust , moves the bearing into slightly better alignment and should be marginally easier to print. I agree with what everyone else has said, but try printing it instead.

ok, printed two parts at once and the results were much better this time.  I now have usable parts to get rid of the Jigsaw.

Now I just need some Kapton tape...
