Topic: New SD3 Repetier Error

So after about 5 hours of working through connection issues, reloading drivers, etc I can now connect to the SD3 without any errors. Now when I connect to the printer I am receiving the error below

22:43:48.324 : : Extruder switched off. MINTEMP triggered !
22:43:48.324 : Error:Printer stopped deu to errors. Fix the error and use M999 to restart!. (Temperature is reset. Set it before restarting)

The extruder temperature is reading 3ºC and the printbed 20ºC. I've changed USB ports, USB cables, and anything else I could think of. I also tested continuity of the wires leading to the extruder and compared resistances of the wire sets on the hotend to those of an extra I also ordered. I can't figure out why the temp is reading 3º. The only other issue I notice is that I now have an 'USB Serial Converter' showing in my device manager stating it cannot start. I tried the latest FTDI bus driver with no luck, and I am using the latest driver for the COM port. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Other info: Brand new SD3 arrived today
OS: Windows 7 64B
Port: USB2 and USB3
Printer makes noise as Repetier connects and XYZ controls function.

E3D-v4 Hotend, MK5 carriage with round plastic wire conduit , 3/16" tempered glass,  Well nut, SureStepr SD8825 1/32 Extruder Driver, PowerEdge 2650 500W PS, QU-BD heated bed, circuit board fan, hinged plexiglass enclosure with plastic tray top. Other than that mostly stock SD3

Well 9 hours of chasing around driver issues and everything else I somehow ended up with a third device being found that was being identified as a ballpoint mouse. This lead me to another thread here where it was mentioned that the issue was caused by loose wires. So I took a very close look at the wires I could not test earlier and sure enough the wires coming from the thermistor were not seated in the connector and the insulation had slide down the solid core.  All that time wasted because of two chincy wires hmm ...after fixing it with some new wire and solder I am able to connect and heat both the extruder and hotbed without any issues.

The wires from the blue clip to the extruder end have done the exact thing on my printer as yours did. We're you able to solder in the extra wire while still attached to the extruder? Did you get a new blue clip or did you take the clip out of the circuit altogether? I have never soldered before and this looks like a pretty tough job for a noob. Tips?

I soldered to the connector, then soldered to the original solid wire and covered it with heatshrink. Then I was on to the installing the first filament and found it was jammed up with some white or natural filament so I just took the whole thing out and put in the replacement I had ordered with my unit. It was a pretty frustrating experience, but I learned from it lol. I'm now up and printing and looking into some mods.

Not the prettiest, but it worked.

Had same issue with wires from heat core to connectors.  I just pushed back in and put a drop of SuperGlue on it.  It has not come loose again.

Mine was the red clip, same thing though.

Just pushing the wires back in for me was not working so I tried to rewire it much like Krytis did but now my extruder temp reading comes back at 357.2. Thoughts?
