Just curious why we use  such a high hotend temp when  the melting point of ABS is 105 C

221°F (105°C)
Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene, Melting point

The *glass transition temperature* is 105C. That's the temperature it begins to soften. It is amorphous, and therefore has no true melting point.

From my experience, not all ABS is the same so you really cant use exact numbers to have exact results. Plus, the environment makes a big defference in your settings as well. Best thing to do is test for yourself and go with what works best for you.
