Re: Just some of my beginning prints
If my printer does half this quality out of the box I will be super happy! Very nice!

Could you take a picture of those? It's interesting to see any changes showing up in the latest shipped printers.
I'll be sure to after I get home from work, I noticed they didn't put them in some pictures I've seen in the forum which is interesting...

My first prints were alright, but after I calibrated the extruder (It was pulling 130mm for every 100mm I requested) the layer quality was beautiful.
The only quality issue I have is a slight wobble/ bad look to the front and back of my parts, I've noticed that with the larger companion cube I printed (I'll try posting pictures later to help) but I've been told that's probably belt tension.
Oh and the creaking noise I sometimes get, I'll have to look into that...
Saturday's prints (Back half are mine, a friend drew up the front ones and she had me print 'em off)

I really wish SD would inform the public of what changes were made on different batches of machines.
Nice! Could you share the stl for the Aperture Laboratory logo??
Here's one of the first pictures of my machine, you can see the spacers there, but I'll get a better shot...

Quick mask update, about 2 hours in, there was some warping at the rear of the mask, and I seem to have stopped, maybe not in the smartest fashion, but I really want this mask to print all the way...

Looking good! Although you should've used a brim to combat that lift.
What's the .stl for that Aperture logo!!!!!?????
Also if you're printing up to the full height of your printer make sure you modify the end of the gcode so it doesn't throw in a 20mm lift when your bed is already near the bottom.

I guess it's probably best it didn't finish then, lol.
This is as far as I got, sadly, but it makes a great glasses holder.

A friend drew it up for me, I'll upload it after work this afternoon.

Very nice! Here at the office we got a kick out of the bikini'd woman! Good prints all around!
Didn't bring her with me to the office, But I can't keep people from swarming my desk to look at that geared cube.
I'm probably going to need to print a few more...
I printed several copies of emmet's gear bearing as everyone at the office wanted one. I need to try that geared cube.

Do they really spin as freely as it shows in the video? Did you do any post print cleanup to get it to?

Mine was completely stuck together the first time I printed ![]()
Ya, they spin pretty well. There are definitely some real use case applications for this guy.
Step 1: Calibrate the shit out of your machine
Step 2: Kisslicer gave me nice toolpaths, while slic3r's gcode seemed to fuse the parts together. I could see this behavior in the RH gcode viewer.
Step 3: Print (I used .3mm Octave Natural ABS)
Step 4: Use a power drill after print to snap any fused parts.
Step 5: Impress all the ladies.
I'd love to see a video of that geared cube!
I put up a post about the gear bearing as to not derail Schieggster's thread.

And I've got a video on facebook, I'll upload it to youtube, it's really short, no explanation or anything...
I had to print one!
Nice, lol.
