Topic: Is the hole in the center top of the back panel for the filament?

Hi, Just got my Solidoodle2.  I fed the filament through the top of the printer into the print head then noticed there was a hole at the top center of the back panel.  Should I have fed it through there?  Thanks!

Either is acceptable.

Thanks for the reply.  I wasn't sure if putting the filament through the hole was going to casue it to jam in the printer head.

Nope, though the sharp edge of the metal can make dust from the filament. There are filament guides on thingiverse that fit the hole to prevent this.

the sd3 has a plastic gromet to prevent scraping now i'd assuem they did with the sd2

I found feeding it through that hole helped keep it on the spool rather than having it slide off and wrap around the pvc pipe.
