Topic: Computer time out

I think my computer timed out due to inactivity on a long print last week, and stopped my doodle mid flight. Is there a setting that I could change to fix this issue, so I don't have to move the mouse every hour on a 5 hour print?

Depends on the operating system, but typically you're looking for power schemes and make sure that your hard disks or whatever are not timing out on standby.  Set everything to "Never" for timing out.  Used to be found under screen saver or for older computers I think it was "control powercfg.cpl" in the run menu.

Go to power options and select never for all the menu's.
