Topic: wire broke at molex connector

I had a clogged nozzel and when I went to unplug the connector
the wire broke on the femail connector of the resister

I want to lengthen the wire do I have to use a spacific type
and are the connectors a standard crimp type.

If the wire broke near the connector: just remove the piece of wire still in the connector and push the new end in the connector with some tool (flathead screwdriver or something).

If you want to lengthen it, I guess you should use heat resistant wire (that's what's recommended in guides I read) and use a small tube to crimp the new wire and resistor wire together and then put heatshrink around the connection. I haven't yet done this myself (still waiting for parts). Hotends.com recommends heat resistant cable with part number 8209K11 (McMaster).

Attached is a pic of the connector
I was able to push the pins out and have desoldered them.
do i need to use a high temp solder (silver solder) or just a good rosin core solder.

Re: wire broke at molex connector

Regular solder should do fine, the wire temps are under 70C by that point.

Mine did the same thing, turned out the whole wire ended up breaking. After the connector you can use regular stranded wire. I upped it to 20 gauge
