Did you download the APK from the very first post?

Is your phone actually NFC capable? Just being an Android phone does not make it capable. Some don't have NFC hardware.

I am stuck I think I followed how to write a new tag, now my printer is giving me an error stating that the cartridge is not recognizable and tells me to replace it.  What did I do wrong?

I used the RFID NFC Tool download.  I found a video online and followed it.  It showed on the amount all 9's for how much filament is left.  My phone is a Galazy S5.

Re: Android App for resetting/writing blank ntags

Why are you following a video from somewhere else when the instructions for the app is posted here? That's like buying a Honda and reading a Ford manual. Sure it's similar but not the same.

Re: Android App for resetting/writing blank ntags

If you use EmuTag, try to use random UID function.

If you use PaperTag, you can try to use random serial number.
PaperTag's have a fixed UID, possibly you tried with wrong parameters and now it’s blocked/blacklisted by the printer firmware.
In this case use another new PaperTag.

Re: Android App for resetting/writing blank ntags

ok where would I enter the random serial number?  Where do I get that from?
This is what I have done see the attachment

WTF.  It took me longer to download the app then it did to update the tag.  I ran it and it is working great.  Thanks a lot for your help.  This is awesome.

Re: Android App for resetting/writing blank ntags

Hey can you add a new option for like temps of like 220 or 230? Or is it possable to add a option in my self? Is the sorce code available? And one other thing the reset option does not work i tried it and the tag stoped getting recognized as working, from the da vinci mini w+ printer.

The Davinci hotend will be damaged if you go higher than stock temps.

Davinci supply PETG filament and this is set to approx 220 degrees - so it is a "stock" temp smile
That's data from one card that I have been given data for - who knows if other colours are set higher.

Yesterday, I got my hands on an official reel of the PETG from XYZ. The chip in it appeared to make the printer print at about 220-225. When I used the official XYZ Print software, and set the temperature to +10 degrees (the highest it will let you go), my printer started printing at about 235.

Here's a picture of my printer at those temperatures using nothing but the tools XYZ offers.

I'd say, for the Davinci Jr at least, that 235 is the upper end of the stock temperatures right now.

For the person who wrote this app, here is the data from the reel that goes to 220-225. http://www.soliforum.com/post/149481/#p149481

Re: Android App for resetting/writing blank ntags

Not sure why PETG needs to be that high. I print PETG exclusivly on my fantastic fully open source printer and print at 220 to 225 max. Must be another one of their custom not really PETG but a blend like their PLA that melts at temps lower than third party PLA.

Well, the NFC card does set it at 220-225. It was only after I told the program to add 10 degrees that it got that hot.

But if you look around at different brands of PETG, you can find some that say 210 to 240°C and others that say 230°C - 260°C. I would guess it's more about the specific composition of those PETG filaments and maybe even their colors. I printed a couple of Benchys on the printer last night using the MG Chemicals PETG. It did terribly at 220, but did much better at 235.

Re: Android App for resetting/writing blank ntags

I just printed with TPU on a Minimaker. Need to tweak now but it printed without any jams the first time. I'm using a tag setting of black,PLA,valid serial,210C and 200m. On the printer I did excellent, 10% Infill, 0.1Layer, Low Speed, +10C Temp and 0mm Retract. Super pleased. I used Print-Rite 500G TPU which fit the XYZ hub sort of. Enough that I could place it on the normal spool holder.

I use a 26 gauge brushed stainless plate for my bed with Elmer Purple stick glue. Works great!

I mostly want to use TPU for washers, gaskets(non-oil) and non-marring bases and feet. Functional items.

Hi, I am still checking possibilities. Have a Junior 1.0 Wireless unit with upgraded version. It was 2.3.6 version and I tried to downgrade it so I could use reset tags from original spools.
So I used tag reset app and was able to reset tag to 200m but it became unrecognisable by the printer.
Then i tried to downgrade firmware to version 2.2.4. Screen prompted that ir was successful. And when checked again with pc application, could see that firmware version has changed, BUT printer screen was still displaying previous, higher version and reset tag wasn't recognised. Then on PC i used prompt to Upgrade firmware from Internet and successfully did it. New firmware version displayed on the printer is 2.4.5 and guess what! Previously reset tag became recognised. It is showing 200m now. But when scanned with NFC reader it shows Extruder temp 93 degree and Heathed bed (which i don't have) - 212 degree. And I can't reset the tag anymore.
Any ideas of what's happening and how to reset tag to proper temps?
Thank you

The temp is set by the color. But to my knowledge once a tag has been allowed to go to zero the machine will remember that tag and not allow it to be used or reset again. You have to get paper tags and program a new one. On that tag the extruder and bed temps are swapped.

Re: Android App for resetting/writing blank ntags

I was able to use this spool with reset tag successfully.
Despite Android app showing tepm set to 93°, extruder heating to required temp for yellow filament, that tag was originally programed to.
I didn't empty the spool before reseting the tag, so it is still accepted by the printer (junior wireless) and it's firmware version is 2.4.5
Spool had about 8 meters of PLA left on it and after tag was reset to 200m I successfully printed two small objects.
So all went good
