Topic: Printed objects have successive layers shifted to one side!

I am new to 3d printing and I just bought a nice, used Davinci 1.0.  I used the Android app to calibrate it with success. But when I tried to print anything, including the vase demo it starts off ok, then after a few layers it starts shifting successive layers to one side...a little bit more for each layer, see the attached photo.  Has anyone experienced this?  I'm not using any glue, printed objects adhere to the platen ok.  I'm using a purple filament that's in the cartridge that came with the printer. The printer has system 1.2.6 on it.  I haven't done anything with it except unclog the nozzle and calibrate it.
Does anyone have any ideas what might be causing this strange behavior?  Your suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Here is a list of things to look for.

IMHO your "NICE used"  Davinci ether has loose pulleys/or belts on the on the effected axis or the motor wires are worn out connections loose. .  .

And yes not a new issue there are at lesat a half dozen threads on this forum with folks with similar issues.

Send it back to the seller !
No printer in good working condition shouldn't behave like that.

It happened to my on my Da Vinci mini. After a lot time spent troubleshooting I realized that the extruder module wasn't locked in place. White button sticking out from the side instead of the top. You might want to check that.

Most likely this Y axis Bearing Holder (or called Shaft Mount) is cracked during the shipping. You can glue the broken one together and print a replacement if this is indeed the case. The consequence of this problem is very similar as loose pulleys/or belts.
