Topic: Wall mount

Hi everyone,

I am a new user. Filastruder is on its way to me now. My first question is how to mount the machine? Is vertical wall mounting the preferred method?

Thank you all in advance

Re: Wall mount

wall mounting I find produces the best results. Did you get the filawinder also?

Re: Wall mount

Didn't get the filawinder yet. I thought I would built one kit at a time. Certainly will though. Is it just gravity that makes wall mounting better?

Re: Wall mount

Anybody have any further thoughts about vertical wall mount vs horizontal setup? Has anyone tried a 45º wall mount?

Re: Wall mount

Back before I got my winder I used to use a 45, photos here: http://www.soliforum.com/topic/15397/ma … lac-pa758/

It worked pretty well for ABS, less so for PLA.  Downside to wall mounting is sometimes it can hurt pellet feeding, which is why some people end up adding vibration motors after going vertical.

Re: Wall mount

Thank you,
Are there any hopper designs that can be downloaded for vertical hoppers? I’m leaning towards a vertical setup. Also, how much wall space should I plan for? What is the ideal distance between the filastruder and the winder?

Re: Wall mount

I use this one for both vertical and 45:
