For placement of the object you have to fudge your bed size. So how ever many mm it was sort of center on the x and y you need to increase your bed size in the slicer and host by that much. Firmware will prevent it from actually going of the bed even though in the host the bed will be larger than it really is.
For the gab you need to have the line in your start gcode like mine does. and you will need to adjust that number through trial and error to get it right.
It sounds like you did not use the paper method correctly. You are supposed to start a print. Once the head is over the bed and beginning the first line. you are to kill power. leaving the bed where it is, move the head around by hand and use the adjusters to achieve the paper gap at all four corners and the middle.
Ah, okay yeah I did the paper method at z home power off. Do I have to manually enter the beginning of the g code every print or is there a way to save it for future use? Can you post yours again so I can see it? Also you called it a GAB what does that stand for
I see where I said gap, but not GAB.. There is a place in your slicer to store start and end gcodes and those are appended by the slicer to each build. When you select your slicer I assume curaengine since you are using repetier you will click on the configure box.
It will open the actual slicer so you can make changes in it like machine dimensions, settings, and so on. The settings you make in the slicer over ride the settings in the host. so things like temp need to be the same in both.
Once you open the cura configuration. you will see a window with the Cura tab selected. In that window will be another window with the Print tab already selected. In that window with be multiple tabs Speed and quality, Structures, Extrusion, and g-codes. under that tab you can edit the Start gcode and End gcode.
Whatever you put in those will be added to the start of and end of every print by the slicer. So you could add a line to the end to move the bed all the way down once the print is done.
Slicer should have similar settings.
Printing since 2009 and still love it!
