are the bearings in the printer carriage suppose to spin free in the plastic.
I am hearing a rattle and it sounds like one of the bearings.
Thanks

They snap into the carriage, but they are not loose. On mine there is a glob of green epoxy that is placed on them and the middle of the carriage slot that they snap into.
If the plastic only is worn and the bearings in good shape wax or oil the bearing and add a bit of ca glue or epoxy to fill the gap and hold them in place.
Thanks
I will glue them

you can also wrap some electrical tape around them to increase the diameter slightly for a snug fit
I talked to Makerbot support and was told not to secure the bearing that it may cause bindin. he informed me the only thing a loose bearing would cause is layer shift which I do not have problems with that.
Thanks
Dale
