Me too and I ordered mine with 2lbs of natural and 2lbs of black filament.  I have my plan to test and make sure all is ok.  Then calibration steps.  Then some sample calibration prints, like thin wall cube, circle, etc.  After that and everything is dialed in as good as I can some replacement parts, mods, and calibration and other tools.  Once all that is done its time to have fun and work.

Me too, I was going to buy the "Octave" brand, at $32 per 1KG, but I read reviews saying it doesn't always print well. Instead I am looking at "Jet" brand ABS plastic at $38 per 1KG. I would just spend the $43 for Solidoodle's recommended brand on their site, but their shipping costs more than free 2 day, from Amazon Prime. smile

Keep me posted on what you buy and how it works & I will do the same.

I've never had any issues with Octave and I have used over 6 different colors.

I would be careful buying filiment from other vendors, the spool hole diameter, and overall size of spool is larger, causing uneven pulling while feeding filiment as it rocks back in forth while feeding.  I intend to order from Solidoodle for more filiment.

Well, I'm not planning on putting the Spool on the back of the SD2 anyway, I'm going to hang a few spools over head so I can switch colors, and feed it easily, I'll post some drawings/ pictures later.


Also, Xtruded and Ghostling are giving me hope that I might not be 8-10 weeks away from printing in 3D. But, I'll patiently keep watch on my order.

By the way, does it ever change from "Pending" to anything else before shipped? I'm just wondering if they've seen my order, lol.

Good news printer arrived smile     
Printed thumbscrews for bed leveling , worked out of the box !


Bad news is it was missin a  part for the spool holder,  an the thermoresistors wires where not connected hanging loose .. once you unbox it i highly suggest looking over every bolt , nut an wire

  awesome printer an worth the price !    im happy !

Well it took alot of promises id make Fancy justin beiber Vajigglers for everyones wife an lovedones ,,   but other then that was just good fast service !       smile


other then a missing part of the spool holder i cant complain ,     i planed to print off a  Solidoodle 2 Spool Holder from thingiverse anyway so no biggy .       

  no matter what company you buy from allways good to do your own quality control of the product , stuff happens in shipping , etc
plus its good to get a overview of all the parts an how they connect , work  and for safety ~

extruder fan mount , cable carrier and filament holder  next on the list of prints  !

Well i got my SD2 yesterday and everything worked perfect right out of the box! I did have to level the table a bit but i think thats a necessity anyway.

The only problem is that my roomate wont let me keep it in the house because he's afraid it will spike our electrical bill. So i'm taking it to work monday.

But beyond that i am impressed with the SD2 and it was worth the wait.
