So it's finally in my hands.

Can't wait to open it up when I get home.

As a summary for those interested in shipping times to Australia:

Initial order date (S2) : 23 August 2012
Upgrade date to S3 : 19 November 2012
Shipping date at solidoodle : 6 February 2013
Processed through sort facility (NY) : 7 February 2013
Processed through sort facility (Australia) : 14 February 2013
Arrived at post office (Sydney) : 15 February 2013
Delivered (Sydney city): 18 February 2013

Just shy of a 6 month wait. Any longer, and I expect a baby.

Note: my gf noted that I cleaned and prepared my house like a father preparing for the arrival of his first born child.

Just got the email

update: says I'll get it Friday now.Glad I am off so I'll be here when it arrives.

Ya that doesn't sound right.  50 a day and they shipped 7167 to your would be next week, and that is of all the order numbers are actually units, not parts, filament,etc.

Well if that's true they need to change the order page to 6 month before you get one cause they are over 8000 now

Lotw_1 everytime someoen goes tothe order page it generatesa new order # so ewven when someone  just puts it in their cart it generates a bumbers so the actual order numbers are far lower than you would think

I know that, but the main thing is we have no idea how many order numbers are good, cancelled, for machines, etc.  Next week I am on my 6 weeks of waiting and when I talked to them they said about 3-5 more.  So your maybe 50 a week seems more real.  The only way they are going to take on the bigger people in the industry is reduce their shipping times and make sure machine is packed good and nothing is loose or comes loose than can cause damage, making that ungodfully long wait even more painful, especially when already have the entire purchase price, tax, shipping up front.  No other business gets away with full payment up front except for kickstarters which really aren't businesses yet.

That is cool, congrats but it does show they are not following order numbers, especially when it comes to SD3s.  My order number is 7786 ordered on 18/01/2013 and mine shows pending still.

Again SD is skipping order numbers.  Why give out order number if your not shipping in order?

Order numbers are strictly for reference, in my company orders seldom go out in order number order because most of what I make is custom and some things take longer to make than others so if someone orders something I have on the shelf and that is the whole order it can go right out but if they order a bunch of different things that need to made up it can take several weeks to finish.
