Topic: Repetier won't heat extruder (Solidoodle 3)

Today is the first time I am trying out the Solidoodle 3. The first line the machine laid out did not stick to the heated bed and was carried alongside the extruder. The build platform was cool to the touch so I stopped the print to give it another go from the start. Now, the build platform is warm however the extruder will not heat up.

The heated bed responds well to changing its temperature in the Repetier program, however the extruder is completely unresponsive. I have tried tinkering with some settings and resetting the program, but that didn't help. Any suggestions as to what I should do are welcome. Thanks.

If you have a multimeter then try the checks elmoret and Tomek recommended in the thread above. And write to Solidoodle support. I'm sure if it isn't just a loose connector they will replace the broken part.

andrew go into repetier under the config heading at the top go to the printer settings. under there you will have a sections that says port - virtual printer change that to the com port the computer is registering the printer under. click apply and then ok

your printer will now be findable by the program

and then much fun will be had by all

its no biggie about half of us have done it including myself.

If the bed is warm to the touch, it's not a COM port problem, Manx.
