Topic: Heater Core Failure?

Ok, So in the middle of a print the temp dropped and never returned. The heater core in the Hot End is giving me no voltage, where do i check it on the board? A week old and this thing is becoming the bane of my existence....

SD has a terrible QC process....I think most of us have had major issues at some point (a good portion of these are user errors though)...once you have worked out all the kinks it will be much more pleasing. There normally is a best way to do things, but they went the cheapest route assuming "ok" functionality was acceptable.   You will always perform small maintenance on the unit, but you won't have to go back and repair the same part over and over once you fix it correctly...just follow the advice of the most intelligent group of people I have ever had the pleasure of presence with.

Re: Heater Core Failure?

It's the heater core for sure. I'm not gonna bother with Solidoodle the "glue it" comment frustrated me with the last issue. I ordered a few spare heat resistors from Digi-Key to replace this one.

I'm not 100% sure which part to get. Does anyone know if this would work as replacement? http://reprapworld.com/?products_detail … cPath=1616
