Topic: received my SD3, but cant get the platform to move?

I may be missing something here, but I just received my SD 3 printer, setup everything per the instructions.  The Repetier software finds the printer fine, I can heat up the extrude head and see the feedback on current temperature as it warms up.  however, no other actions seem to work?

the printer status reports as "idle" (after the head warms up).  If I click on any of the x, y, or  z movement options on the manual controls page *nothing happens*.

I can see the command sent in the debug log, but no physical motion from the printer.

All cables look tight.

help!

You probably have it set to a virtual print port. Did you manually set the proper COM/serial port?

There is no other option other than "Virtual Printer Port".  I assume its right, because it shows me information about the printer and feedback from the heater commands.

actually an update on that.  it shows the temperature coming up, but its not actually heating.

I didn't want to touch the extrude head but did try to heat the platform and its definitely not heating, despite a slowly rising temperature reading that would indicate it is working....

nevermind.  I had a dead usb port on my pc.

moved it to the other side and it detected.  I missed the fact that "virtual printer" actually meant:  virtual!

thanks!
