Topic: 1.0a - blue vrs grey

Can anyone tell me what the difference is between blue and grey on 1.0a. I have the grey version and system tells me its 1.0a. Xyzprinting refers to the blue one only for flex filament support.

Thnx

Flex filament...

that's actually kinda funny!

It can't even do PLA!

very small mechanical differences.  the z axis end stop is in a different place, magnet on the door of the 1.0a, different board.   The extruders are (were) identical on my 1.0 and 1.0a.  Convert to a e3d v6.  I tried everything to retain the stock extruder and hot end.  with the v6 and mk10 extruder I can run anything through it

Re: 1.0a - blue vrs grey

To my knowledge the grey is a 1.0 and the blue one is a 1.0A only. However there are some early 1.0A that are grey as well. You have to look at your serial number and see if it has an A in the first 5 characters to see if your grey model is an 1.0 or 1.0A. The blue however should always be a 1.0A. The 1.0 was never released in the blue flavor.

Carl is right on.  I have an early 1.0A that is grey. The blue ones came just after I got mine.  If the serial starts with 3F10A then you have a 1.0a.  I don't believe there are any major differences other than color but I have not been keeping up with any changes they may have made on the 1.0A.

My blue had have the old ABS only hotend. It didnt even print PLA so i guess Flex Filament is impossible.
