Topic: Looking for Repetier Host for Workbench Apprentice

So I had built a new computer recently and had decided to go for a completely fresh install. Today I decided to get the Workbench Apprentice I had going again but I guess from all the 'issues' that solidoodle is currently under I can't find a download for the existing Repetier Host profile or whatever it was the software they provided on their site was.

Does anyone know of anywhere I could find this? I've looked through google but turned up nothing. If its not possible to get the file anymore, what other options do I have? I'm pretty new to the world of programs for 3d printers so I can't say I know very well how to set up my own profile.

If what you want isn't there don't panic.  All the softwares used by SD are open source anyway, we can easily get you up and running.

Well I got another issue now so may as well stick it in here rather then put up another thread unless I need to. So I got Repetier Host going and such, printer is plugged into my computer but when I plugged it in it said it couldn't install the device driver and I can't get RH to communicate to my printer.

If it means anything as well, looking in the printer settings of RH shows only COM1 being used but having it selected doesn't change anything.

What com port does device manager show?

My device manager only lists COM1

You need to update the driver, it doesn't look as though it's actually connected.

When I do a search for updates its saying that it is up to date, or am I needing to update the driver on the 3d printer itself?

You may want to reinstall the driver is what I'm suggesting.  (Not on the board)

Alright, I went and reinstalled the driver and its just showing the same thing, only COM1. Tested RH again just to be sure and nothing.

I don't if it'll help any but here's what the printer comes in as in the Devices and Printers.

I am on Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit and RH that I am running is v0.85b, the one that comes with the solidoodle profile loaded into it.

I do wish to note that yesterday I got the printer communicating on a computer running Windows 10 so I do have a computer that can run the printer fortunately though I do wish to still try and figure this out on my existing computer.

maybe you installed wrong software, as they say which OS each is for. also I never see the com port my SD2 is using in device manager unless its running since its not a conventional Printer device. but virtual. thats why plug N play devices when installed steal the port for the 3D printer if its not running when installing new de vices and has a low number. the device just grabs next available/un-used port in numerical order. thats why I changed mine to a number higher than 18 like 24 due to an PDA taking com 5 when syncing. my win7 64 bit laptop uses the newest version of RH/Slic3r

Solidoodle 2 with Deluxe kit cover & glass bed with heater. and 2nd board SD2 used not 3rd and alum platform not installed yet still wood. also need cooling fan installed to board. use Repetier Host couple vers. Slic3r also have all free ware STL programs
