Topic: printrboard Rev E power connector

Hi again. I bought a rev E board but the connector is a CPU power adapter. Does anyone know the wiring diagram for this so I can make an adapter to hook up to this.

I have the pcie adapter that came with the rev F board.

Alright, cut off the barrel plug and peel away the large outside insulation on the barrel plug wires and let's see the wires inside. Hopefully, they are black and red so you can easily see how to connect it up. What you're going to do is connect the two yellow wires on the CPU power connector to the red wire inside the wires coming off the PSU, and the two black wires to the black wire. Does this make sense?

If you don't want to butcher your existing PSU, there are other options.

Rev E has the same 4-pin power connection as rev B-D. Rev F increased this to a 6-pin version.

-ve goes to the 2 pins closest to the edge of the board.
+ve goes to the other 2 inboard pins.
This should be how a normal ATX 4-pin connector is wired up, and can only be inserted one way, so yellow = +12V, black = -ve as jago says.

If you're hacking up the existing supply, or using a new one, I highly highly recommend confirming you check the polarity is right with a multimeter before you plug it together!! Getting this wrong will cause board death. smile

So just to double check. If I connect the black wire from the dc supply to the left sides and the red to the right sides.

Re: printrboard Rev E power connector

The connector should have artwork on the board telling you which pin is which. +ve would be red or yellow and -ve would be black. You really need to go by the markings and not left or right as we may be looking at a board differently from you.

Also if you can't see the markings a quick google for your board + version + diagram will show you what I mean.

Re: printrboard Rev E power connector

i believe this is what you are looking for - the power connection is in the green box.
Yellow (+v) wires towards the center of the board, black (-v) to the outside edge...

Re: printrboard Rev E power connector

Ok I have succesfully joined the dc barrel to the cpu power socket.
I checked the atx motherboard wiki and found the wiring diagram. COM is Ground.
