Topic: Is there a better way to attach a glass bed than binder clips?

I am frustrated with dealing with them and looking for better suggestions.

I would ideally like to drill holes in the glass and attach it directly to the bed through the existing screws. At this time, I do not have access to a drill that I trust to cut glass without shattering it.

p.s.-I actually have a borosilicate bed. Don't know if that matters.

Just use hairspray. Spray a sheet of glass on one side that will fit on your bed. Then run it through two or three heating and cooling cycles. Once dry the hairspray should hold the glass in place for a week or more. You can also spray the top side as well and no matter what filament you use it will stick great as well. Once cooled to room temp the part will lift right off.

+1 to what Carl said.

I have one printer with glass that has not budged in over 3 months. Give a generous spray for the bottom and a fine but even dusting on the top then cycle the heat as mentioned.

hairspray works great for me. smile

if you really want it to stay in place, put kapton on the aluminum bed, then attach the glass to that with the hairspray - I havent had my glass move in months!
