My bed is 98 degrees my extruder is 200, Homing the extruder works. I load an STL, slice it and click Print. Nothing happens, not even an error msg.
Here's what I'm seeing:

Here's what I'm seeing:

More weirdness:
1. It won't Print the Sliced drawing.
2. When I shut off the heaters, they don't. They maintain their set temps.
3. It will not let me Disconnect fro the Printer.
4.I cannot Close Repetier Host.
5. I force a PC reboot, turn off the printer, start over. Same thing.
Are you using PLA? 200 is too cold for ABS which should be 230-240.
I am not using that version of RH so maybe reach out to Azrerate or jagowilson, I'm pretty sure they are running that version.

This behavior is indicative of a loose connection of the PSU or any other wire causing interference with the USB. You should also eliminate a bad USB cable by replacing it.
Others have reported connectivity issues with that version. You might try the previous version just as a quick test.
+1 to what wardjr said.
I'm betting a dollar it is a communication issue.
Be 100% you chose the correct COM port in printer settings. It can connect on a wrong port and seems brain dead if not on the right port or the USB is on the fritz
Still the same behavior.
Still the same behavior.
After what changes?

Sorry, I checked for bad connections, COM port was correct. I don't have another USB like that. I am trying to get the old version of RH going now. We're beginning the festivities with not seeing the COM port. More news as it happens.
Gave an access authorization error. Changed the Port to COM4 in Device Mgr. Sez Device working properly. Go to (old) RH, Confg Printer Settings, select COM4 from the port drop down list.
Try to Connect, sez COM4 does not exist.
No matter what port number I assign Com3, Com2, Com10, it says it is working properly. Try to Connect, RH says COMx Does Not Exist. 0
Okay, I have to unplug/plug the USB to see the com port assignment change. It is connected now.
I connect, go to manual control, click the heaters on, the Green indicator comes on, but they don't heat up.
The status box says "30 commands waiting", which includes my commands to turn on the heaters. So what's clogging up the commands?
As soon as I Connect to the Printer it says, "5 commands waiting". Why is it stuck?

Shut down both the PC and printer.. unplug the USB The restart the PC, then the printer, plug in the USB and wait for the chime that tells you the printer is seen. Once the chime sounds then open RH and click connect. Before you click on anything make sure it says ready or idle and does not show commands waiting.
Roger that.
Carl, you are the man. One of the mans. Heaters are heating.
This is sure a humbling experience. ![]()
I hate to say it boys, since this has been so much fun, but IT'S PRINTING!
Merry Christmas, it's a miracle!!!
Good to hear, now did your learn anything? If so then all the better as that is how we all get better at this thing called 3D Printing..
Yeah, I learned I want a Solidator! And I don't get along with the new version of RH. And this is the best damn bunch of guys between here and the Horse Head Nebula!
Yay! glad to hear you got it going! ![]()
if it makes you feel any better - me and my printer didn't get along too well with the latest version of RH either. Kept getting communication timeout errors. ![]()
reverted back to the version I was using before (v1.0.6) and no more problems
now, what is a "Solidator"?
Large SLA (liquid resin tray) laser 3D printer. You can print multiple objects at once at the same speed as printing one object. Much faster than a Formlabs Form 1 or 2. Made in Germany, high quality, large prints, big price tag ($7500 delivered). Seems like it wold answer a lot of needs for a small production shop trying to get their delivery timeframe and per unit printing cost down (especially compared to service bureaus like Sculpteo).
My Internet is real slow today or I'd post a link. I think it's just www.Solidator.com

One issue with an SLA is you will also need an additional UV curing oven. Either purchased or built. The reason is if you do not print solid fill then any cavities in your model will be filled with liquid uncured resin.
So you have to put finished prints in a chamber that is flooded with UV light. This is called a UV oven and it cures the remaining liquid resin after several hours.
So add that in to your cost as well....
