Topic: DaVinci Jr Files

Hi while trying to print STL files from the SD card it never showed up under the build from card option. When I checked the website for the DaVinci Jr it said STL files where compatible. What should I do?

Re: DaVinci Jr Files

There is no printer that can use STL files directly. The software can but not the printer. The printer can only use the files that the software converts the STL to which is usually a gcode file or the Da Vinci format which is something like s3w.

An stl file must be run through a slicer. The slicer will convert the file to gcode.

The program the printer comes with will do this.

Re: DaVinci Jr Files

You have to run the STL file through the XYZware program from Davinci. You can download it from their website. Their software will output a .3w file that your Davinchi Junior will recognize.

When I click Save it says it will save it as a stl file

Re: DaVinci Jr Files

You want to use the export button in XYZware.

Check out this tutorial, it's on an older version of XYZware but the basics still apply:
