Topic: Bought new x-axis motor. Seemed to work fine, until I hit "home", and

It goes the wrong way! My x-motor seems to be left-handed. Is it possible the wires are just reversed? I don't want to mess with it unless I know what I'm doing. It seems to move correctly in all respects but that.

Yes, just power down completely, unplug the USB cable, and reverse the 4-conducter plug on the board...then connect/power back up and you should be fine.

Thanks Ironman. I had to grind down the connector, but once I did it worked fine.

Glad it's solved! Easy. smile

For next time / next reader: on those connectors, with a small screwdriver or the end of a knife you can actually pull the little plastic tab up and pull out the individual metal pins... To change the motor direction you only need to swap one coil pair (although flipping the whole connector does the same thing!).

Would have saved grinding the connector back hehe.

Note also the motor direction can be reversed in firmware, but the physical method is usually much much easier!
