Topic: Stepper Disabled Error

This is the first and only time I've had this one. I was two hours into a print and found it stopped with this error.  Anyone ever get this and know why it happens?  I powered it off/on and started the job again and it's running.  Weird.

Thanks.

Re: Stepper Disabled Error

I have had this problem as well. Like you mentioned, LED shows 'stepper disabled', and my laptop control shows 'firmware unresponsive'. Not sure what caused it, but power off/on boots printer back again.

Though I am not as lucky as you are, after I power off/on, the print job doesn't just resume. so I basically have to scrap that round of print and start over with fingers-crossed.

I am also interested to see if anybody knows the cause of this occurrence and how to solve it.

Oh, I had to scrap mine too.

Re: Stepper Disabled Error

It could be caused by the motor or the driver over heating because the vref is set too high. You might want to see if you can lower it. Ideally it should be set as low as possible without skipping.
