My prusa i3 ramps board just fried. The power input (negative socket) melted and fried.
There is no power fluctuation here.
The one thing i changed was I changed was 2-prong (6A 250V) to 3-prong power cable (10A 125V). I dont know if this is the reason but the printer has been running well for the past few weeks with this power cable.
What could be the possible causes ?
Those connectors can be replaced if you know how to solder.

This is normally caused by that connection being loose where the wire is clamped in at. It heats up due to a poor connection and this is the result. Keep in mind that wire supplies all the current that the machine uses so there is about 12 amps or so on it at any given time. If it is tight, then not sure as if what you said you did was simply go from a two prong to a three prong was the only thing, it would not cause this. The only place the three prong would even make a difference is that it now ties the power supplies case to earth ground and that's all.
screw terminals will loosen up a little with use (heat (power on)/cool (power off) cycles) - it is always a good idea to periodically check that everything is tight - especially after making any kind of changes
