Topic: Solidoodle 2 sainsmart lcd upgrade

Hey Guys,
I am new to the forum. I have been using a solidoodle gen 2 for a little over 2 years now. IT's been great, but I want to make it stand a lone. I have heard of people using panelolu2 and panelolu to upgrade the solidoodle 2. But I was wondering if anyone could tell me if the sainsmart lcd and sd card at the link below would also work. http://www.amazon.com/SainSmart-Control … rt+sd+card

I ask because this is less than half the cost of the panelolu, and free shipping. I have a Rev E motherboard. I'm sure it will take some fidgeting to get it working, I was just wondering if anyone here could tell me if it would work for certain. I called Solidoodle support this afternoon, and they recommended I post this question here. Hope that is okay. Thanks in advance for the help.

Assuming you still have the original Sanguino board, this will not plug directly into it.  This plugs into a RAMPS board or somthing similar.

To print or, 3D print, that is the question...

If the board has an EXP1 and EXP2 header then this will work. The issue is if the firmware supports it.

Printing since 2009 and still love it!

How do I verify that the firmware will work? It is a Rev E board. Not sure where to check for those headers? Thanks for the help by the way.
