Topic: Squeaky noise

My machine has squeaked in the front back direction since getting it back from tech repairs and I have done a belt tension check and alignment which reduces noise a little at first but sound returns. Doesn't seem to affect print jobs. I think the sound is coming from the belt wheel at the front of the machine. Is there a way to get grease in there or determine if there is any recalibration needed there?

put a drop or two of a light oil (3-in-1) in between the pulley and the bracket and run it back and forth a couple of times to work it in. My X axis will make the same noise occasionally and a little oil will clear it right up.

If you are still using the stock Y brackets, you may want to print some replacements very soon - mine cracked and caused some pretty bad print issues. They are only done with a 40% infill stock - print at 100% - minimum of 80% - for better performance & longevity.

What is the pulley? What is the bracket? Are we refering to the wheel in the front right? What kind of oil are we talking about? Wd 40?

The pulley is the wheel with teeth the belt goes around (I think you mean the right one by "wheel in the front right").
The y bracket is the plastic thing the wheel is in.

There's a bolt that goes through the middle of the pulley. You want oil between that bolt and the inside bore of the pulley to stop it squealing.

WD40 might work, but 3-in-1 is a bit thicker and lasts better. You'll probably go around all your door and gate hinges at home while you're at it. smile

Grob is correct - we are referring to the part in the front that the belt goes around.

WD-40 is not a good choice for this.

3-in-1 oil (this is the actual name of the product), or sewing machine oil, or some other light weight oil - (in a pinch you could even use auto motor oil in a lighter weight, say 5w30, but its not the best choice either)
