Topic: Simplify3d to DaVinci1.0A. Which way if no direct connection?

Trying with a S3d 2.1, I cannot get a connection with Da Vinci 1.0A, so I suppose the way to print from S3D is to generate a file with G-code, opening it with Repetier-host and pushing the button Print in the Print Preview tab. Isn' t it? Is there another better method?

Thanks.

Simplify3D  can work with stock FW and repetier FW - check your settings the problem is there

You can also export gcode from s3d and import it into repetier host

or directly copy gcode to SDCard - there are several ways - but S3D can communicate with printer directly

I like rep host for pausing prints, moving head and fixing/cleaning and continuing print with the head going back to exact same place

It is my understanding that If you copied the files from the sd card the printer comes with on to a wifi sd with an adapter, you can send to the "demo" file the gcode and the printer will work with no problems. An adapter sd/mico sd is needed because the newer DaVinci 1.0a now comes with a micro sd card instead of the standard sd size card. Has anyone done this?

I know Simplify3d can work with a Da Vinci with Repetier in 2.2 release and bigger, but I have the 2.1 one. Ar you sure that S3d 2.1 can connect to a Da Vinci with Repetier firm?

Thank you. For the moment I haven't any problem if I have to use Repetier to pass the Simplify3d g-code to the printer although I've read that using the sd card is more reliable than the usb cable.

Yes - be sure wait is unchecked and hW flow control is activated

Luc, I think that option doesn't exist in S3d 2.1, at least I don't find it.

Yes, I saw before and... no way. In my Simplify3d (2.1.0) doesn't exist the setting to activate "HW flow". I just can uncheck "Wait".

Here the window we are talking about:

my mistake, I checked 2.2.1 (the first one I used) not 2.1

It doesn't matter.

I will try with "wait" unchecked and "255" as serial cache size.
