Topic: e3d v6 upgrade Heat issue

Upgraded to the E3Dv6 and had everything up and running and a few test prints done to calibrate/clean up circles and all of a sudden the hot end will no longer heat up, Bed heats up fine though.

Any ideas for me to check as a bit puzzled on the sudden stop.

Likely a heater failure, check heater resistance and contact where you bought it from for a replacement.

Re: e3d v6 upgrade Heat issue

Got in a new heater part and it's now working.

But a new issue has arose, when printing it will stop at different times in telling me "Cold Extrusion Prevented" but the heat is still at 230 on the extruder and didn't dip at any point and I did the firmware upgrade again just to make sure I hadn't changed the min temp by mistake in there and it's set fine for sure.

Is there any setting with-in repetier or the G-code that could be causing it?

If it's not a firmware issue you may want to watch your temp chart as it happens.  Could be a loose connector or short of the thermistor wires.  Either way the temp chart will tell you the output to the extruder ant the temp being read in real time.
